About Us

Walking North Spain is a mountain travel company specialized in walking and hiking holidays that offers different kinds of trips (guided, self-guided and tailor-made), as well as leisure and free time activities that complement our walking routes with great tourist, cultural, gastronomic or adventure in nature interest. We are located in San Sebastian, where we were born and live, in the heart of a fantastic area for holidays and mountain travel. We offer trips and routes in most of northern Spain (Basque Country, Navarra, Western Pyrenees, La Rioja, Picos de Europa...), as well as in the French Basque Country and the French Pyrenees.

We are a Travel Agency and Active Tourism Company that has all the legal requirements to carry out these activities. My wife, Maria Jose, and I created it and started it not many years ago. But our love of nature goes back many years and we have spent an important part of our lives touring and discovering countless trails and mountain routes in the beautiful geography of northern Spain. Now, we would like all those people who enjoy walking through nature to be able to share with us the treasures of the land where we live.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Somehow, the work we do is to transfer our lifelong hobby to our profession. And this passion for this activity that we love so much can be perceived in our daily work, in all our trips, in everything we do and in every detail. We have a great deal of experience and, very importantly, the encouragement and enthusiasm of someone who enjoys their professional activity greatly. And the customer perceives this. That is why many have already been with us on several occasions. And they continue to return... Every time a person plans a hiking trip, they want each day to be fantastic and the whole experience to be wonderful and unforgettable. Every customer expects a lot from their trip and we are fully aware of this. That's why we put ourselves in their shoes and try to offer them the trip that we ourselves would like to be offered. To put it another way, offering the trip that the clients would organize for themselves if they had the knowledge and experience that we have.

OUR AIM

Therefore, our main aim is for our clients to enjoy an unforgettable trip, which will allow them to discover, not only our beautiful routes, but also the geography, culture and customs of this exciting area and, as a result, to keep a fantastic memory of that trip throughout their lives. Because travelling is not only taking photos and marking an area as already visited, but, above all, it is moments of sensations, experiences, adventures and emotions... and we are committed to providing these moments to every single customer!

And this is so because, in short, holidays constitute small parts of our lives that we will keep in our memory and in our hearts forever.
